Samsung gained lots of attention over the past few days thanks to the One UI 6.0 beta program going live for the Galaxy S23 series. And before that, there was talk about One UI 5.1.1, which debuted on the company's latest Galaxy foldable phones and Tab S9 series on July 26. But among all this excitement, Samsung is also constantly releasing its monthly security patches. They may not be nearly as exciting as One UI updates, but they are necessary in today's mobile world.
Speaking of which, Samsung is now rolling out the latest August 2023 security patch for a couple of its mid-range phones — the odd S-branded ones, at that. The August 2023 update is now available for the Galaxy A04s (SM-A047M) and Galaxy A52s (SM-A528B).

You will get One UI 6.0 eventually. But the time has not come yet
The August 2023 update for the Galaxy A04s carries firmware version A047MUBS4CWG1. And the Galaxy A52s update can be identified by firmware version A528BXXS4EWGB.
If you're not familiar with Samsung's firmware numbers, here's an in-depth explanation of what all those letters and numbers mean. But if you are, you may have already noticed that these updates consist only of the August 2023 security patch and don't include any new features or additions to One UI.
This isn't the exciting One UI 6.0 update you may be waiting for. But yes, in case you're wondering, the Galaxy A04s and A52s are eligible for the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. It's just that it might come at a later date, possibly next year.
Until then, you can now download the August 2023 security patch for the Galaxy A04s in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, and Panama.
Galaxy A52s users have access to the August 2023 patch in Austria, Nordic countries, Luxembourg, Switzerland, South-East Europe, and Hungary.
You should be able to download the update by opening the Settings app on your device, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Alternatively, you can download the official firmware files from our website and install the update using a Windows PC.
