The mother lode of official renders depicting Samsung's upcoming mobile devices has leaked. The exterior design of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series is now available online and exposed from every angle.
Spoiler alert: these seem to be official renders rather than fan-made ones created from leaked specifications and measurements. If you followed the news over the past few months, you probably already know what to expect.
But if you haven't, we won't spoil Unpacked for you. If you choose to see these devices before Samsung unveils them later this month, you can head over to WinFuture and check out the three bountiful image galleries posted there. And you can keep reading below for more detailed information.
Some spoilers ahead!
The leaked renders meet our expectations in that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 looks a bit more streamlined but not too different from the Z Fold 4. Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab S9 series follows a similar design path and doesn't stray too far from the Galaxy Tab S8 trio.
Of note is that tablets now separate the S Pen magnetic strip from the circular camera housings and that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is thinner and relocates the LED flash.
Base Galaxy Tab S9 is missing a camera
Interestingly enough, the base Galaxy Tab S9 appears to have abandoned the ultra-wide camera and features only one rear-facing sensor instead of two. This may have been a cost-cutting measure to offset the increased cost of the rumored AMOLED display upgrade for the base model.
Color-wise, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is shown in three flavors: white/cream, black, and light blue. The Galaxy Tab S9 tablets are shown in black.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, colors include white/cream, black, light/mint green, and light purple/lavender. The cover screen's rumored folder shape is hidden extremely well in the leaked renders. This design detail is barely noticeable, but the dark wallpaper definitely helps this illusion. We suspect the cover screen's unusual shape will be more visible in other situations.
All the recent leaks, even accidental ones by Samsung, suggest that the company will officially unveil its upcoming Galaxy foldable phones and high-end tablets near the end of the month, on July 27, at Unpacked in South Korea.
