A new surprise is awaiting Galaxy A51 customers in the USA. Samsung is now rolling out the October 2022 security patch for the unlocked Galaxy A51 variant stateside.
Although carrier variants of the Galaxy A51 don't seem to have received this month's security update yet, the unlocked Galaxy A51 (SM-A515U1) has now joined the queue.
The update can be identified by firmware version A515U1UES8DVI1. As usual, the update is making its way onto unlocked Galaxy A51 models in the USA over the air. A notification should precede the update, but customers who have yet to be notified can attempt to search for the update via the Settings app on their phones. Just open the app, access “Software update,” and tap “Download and install” — if the option is available.
As usual, SamMobile readers can also download the official firmware files from our website. The firmware files can then be used for updating the phone manually using the Odin tool for PC from Samsung.
There's no telling when the carrier Galaxy A51 variant will receive the October 2022 security patch treatment, but you can keep an eye on our newsfeed and/or firmware section if you don't want to miss out.
