Samsung has started rolling out the April 2022 security update to the carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy S21 series in the US. The Galaxy S22 series was the first to get the update last week. The international Galaxy S21 units also received the new security update earlier this week.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with firmware version G996U1UES5CVCB in the US. It includes the April 2022 security patch that fixes over 88 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It could also fix some bugs and improve the performance and stability of the smartphones.
The update is currently rolling out on AT&T and Xfinity Mobile's networks in the US, and more carriers are expected to release the update soon.
If you are a Galaxy S21 series smartphone user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can now check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install.
