Today, the newest security update has been made available for the unlocked version of the Galaxy S21 in the US.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with firmware version G99xU1UES6EWD6 in the US. This is just a security update, so don't expect it to bring any new features or improvements. The update is currently rolling out on almost all carrier networks in the US, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, C-Spire, Dish Wireless, Metro PCS, Sprint, Tracfone, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.
Galaxy S21 May 2023 security update: How to install?
The May 2023 security patch included in this update fixes over 70 security vulnerabilities found in Samsung smartphones. If you have an unlocked Galaxy S21 series phone in the US, you can download the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 series in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The phones in the lineup got access to the Android 12 update toward the end of 2021 and the Android 13 update in late 2022. They received the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year and are bound to get the Android 14 update later this year.
