After releasing the One UI 6.1.1 update to high-end phones and tablets, Samsung has been rolling out the October 2024 security update. A few days ago, that update reached the international variants of the Galaxy S22. Now, the update has reached the Galaxy S22 series in the USA.
Factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 gets October 2024 security update
A new update has been released to the Galaxy S22 series in the USA. It is available for factory-unlocked versions of phones in the series. The update comes with firmware version S90xU1UES6EXJ1. It includes the October 2024 security patch that fixes over 42 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software.
The update doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements. The next set of improvements will only come with the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series device and live in the USA, you can check for the new update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The phones in the lineup received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. Early next year, the phones will likely get the Android 15 (One UI 7) update.
