What's new with the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy S22 series?
The One UI 5.1 update brings an improved camera app that makes it easier to change the selfie color tone. It also offers an easier shortcut to access the Expert RAW app that allows you to capture full-quality shots while offering all the expert camera controls. The Gallery app offers a more powerful search, allowing you to click the picture of a person to see all their images on the phone.
The image remastering tool easily removes unwanted reflections and shadows in an image. You can also create a shared family album and add images and videos up to 5GB to it. You can view and edit EXIF information of images and videos by swiping them up.
You can minimize an app or switch it to full screen by adjusting its corners. When you start an app in split-screen mode, the phone shows the most frequently used apps at the top to populate the other half of the screen. In Samsung DeX, you can adjust the window sizes in the split-screen mode by moving the divider between those windows.
One UI 5.1 also lets you change the phone's wallpaper based on the chosen Focus Mode. The Modes and Routines app gets more conditions and options, including Quick Share, ringtones, and font style. The Weather app now has a dynamic widget and displayed hourly precipitation information. It also displays the most important weather information at the top of the app.
While using Samsung Internet, you can easily access its tabs on a Windows computer through the Windows Phone Link app. Recently accessed tabs can be opened from the bottom right corner of the Windows computer's screen. Inside Samsung's web browser, you can search for things across all folders, including bookmarks and tab groups.
Additional One UI 5.1 features include Bixby Text Call, which converts things from an audio call into on-screen text. You can type replies that Bixby dictates to the caller. The new software also brings two new battery widgets that display battery charge level info about the phone and its connected accessories.
With the One UI 5.1 update, Samsung has added the ability to use AR Emojis simultaneously on three faces in an image. The Smart Suggestions widget shows Spotify's recommended tracks. You can also customize the folder where you want screenshots to be saved. The Settings app displays search suggestions for frequently searched terms.
