Unlocked Galaxy S23 units gets February 2024 security update in the US
The factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra have started getting the February 2024 security update in the US. It comes bearing firmware version S9x8U1UES2BXAD and has a download size of over 400MB.
It is only a security update, which means it won't bring new features or performance improvements. Samsung could release more features to the Galaxy S23 series with the One UI 6.1 update in the next few months. The February 2024 security patch included in the new software fixes 72 security vulnerabilities.
If you have a Galaxy S23 series phone in the US and if it is a factory-unlocked unit, you can check for the new software update on it now. You can do that by opening the Settings app on your phone, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. Once the firmware file is available in our database, you can download it and flash it manually if you don't want to wait for the OTA update to hit your device.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 last year with Android 13 onboard. It received the Android 14 update three months ago, and that update brought dozens of new features and some design improvements. The Galaxy S23 series is expected to get new AI-powered features and some design changes with the One UI 6.1 update after a few months.
