Samsung's latest flagship, the Galaxy S23, may not have received the latest security update yet, but Samsung is bringing the update to other devices at a rapid pace while the competition looks on. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 was among the first to receive an update with security fixes for the month of June, and Samsung has now released a similar update to the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The update comes with firmware version F721U1UES2CWE1 and bumps the security patch version up to June 1, 2023. Like the Z Fold 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 4's June 2023 update has debuted in the USA for those who own an unlocked unit, and we will have to wait and see when it expands to carrier variants and to customers in other countries.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4's June update brings new security fixes, and that's it. Any new features for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will likely only come with the One UI 5.1.1 update once the Galaxy Z Flip 5 (and Galaxy Z Fold 5) hits retail shelves sometime within the next two months, followed by Android 14 and One UI 6.0 a couple of months after that.
The simplest method to download the new update on your Galaxy Z Flip 4 is, as usual, through the phone's Settings » Software update menu, where you can tap the Download and install button. If you don't manually check, your phone will eventually notify you of the update in the next couple of days. Windows PC users can also update their phone using the latest firmware that can be downloaded from our firmware archive.
