The October 2021 security update is now rolling out to the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 2 units in the US. The new software is currently available on almost all carrier networks in the US. A couple of days ago, the latest security patch was released to the carrier-locked version of the foldable phone.
The latest software update for the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 2 units in the US comes with firmware version F916U1UES2EUI3. It includes the October 2021 security patch that promises to fix more than 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. As usual, the new update might also bring general bug fixes and stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy Z Fold 2 user in the US, the new update might have already reached your device. If you haven't received it yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the second half of 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. The phone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in January 2021 and the One UI 3.1.1 a couple of months ago.
