Some of you might remember that the unannounced Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 were spotted in the HTML5 online test earlier this week. They ran the same version of Samsung Internet and yielded similar benchmark scores. Well, the week is not over yet, and the rumor mill won't stop until these phones become official. Thankfully, the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 appear to be getting closer to release fast, and both phones were approved by the Bluetooth regulatory body earlier today.
Once again, the Galaxy A33 is identified by model number SM-A336x, where “x” stands for “B,” “E,” “M,” etc., and depends on region. Following a similar convention, the Galaxy A53 is identified by model numbers SM-A536B, SM-A536E, etc.
The online documents indicate that both the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 support Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity and have Dual-SIM capabilities — at least in some markets.
If history is any indication, Samsung could launch the Galaxy A33 next month, and the Galaxy A52 in March. However, Samsung's been anything but consistent with its release dates lately, so we'll have to wait and see. Besides, the company is now preparing to unveil the Galaxy S22 flagship series at Galaxy Unpacked on February 9, but it hasn't given any hints that the event will coincide with the upcoming mid-range phones.
Our sources told us that both the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 should have an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. This wouldn't be anything new for the already-water-resistant Galaxy A5x series, but it would be a noteworthy addition to the Galaxy A33.
