Last month, the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ received the January 2023 security patch. However, the update was available only for the international variants of the three devices. Today, the company is expanding the January 2023 security patch to the carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+.
The new update for the carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy S10 series comes with firmware version G97xU1UES8IWA1. It contains the January 2023 security patch that fixes over fifty security issues in the devices. The update is currently rolling out to devices on many networks including AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
As usual, if your smartphone hasn’t notified you about the latest update, go to Settings » Software update and then tap Download and install to check for the new update manually. But if you still don’t see anything and are eager to get your hands on the new update, you can download it from our database and flash it manually.
It has been four years since the release of the Galaxy S10, but Samsung is still releasing quarterly security updates to the smartphones. It shows the company’s strong commitment to security updates on its smartphones. If you plan to get a new Samsung flagship, you may want to look at the Galaxy S23 series.
