Samsung has released a couple of 5G smartphones that are compatible with Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband network. These are separate variants that are sold by the biggest mobile carrier in the United States. So it's not surprising to see that Verizon gets its very own variant of the new Galaxy S20 FE 5G.
The official name is quite a mouthful – Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW – but it does guarantee support for Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband network wherever it's available. The handset also supports Verizon's upcoming 5G Nationwide network.
Verizon gets its very own Galaxy S20 FE 5G variant
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW is going to be available for pre-order from Verizon tomorrow. It costs $749.99 at full retail, that's $50 more expensive than the $699 price tag that other carriers are asking for the device. Verizon customers can get the Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW for $29.16 per month for 24 months on the carrier's device payment plan.
The carrier is offering a few promotions to entice customers to buy the device. If you purchase a Galaxy S20 FE UW, Verizon will give you up to $699.99 towards the purchase of another Galaxy S20 FE UW when a new line is added and the phone is purchased on the carrier's device payment plan. This discount will be applied in 24 monthly bill credits.
Everything else remains the same. It's the same Galaxy S20 FE that features a 6.5-inch flat Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 865 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and a 4,500mAh battery. Check out our Galaxy S20 FE device page for the full specs.
Verizon starts taking pre-orders from tomorrow with the handset scheduled for release on October 2. Color options for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW include Cloud Navy, Mint, Lavender and Red.
