In most countries, the April update for the Galaxy S22 series brought Samsung's new Image Clipper feature, but that wasn't the case in the USA. However, that's changing now. The April update for the Verizon-locked variant of Samsung's 2022 flagships has been released this week, and it adds image clipping capabilities to the Gallery app.
If you own a Galaxy S22, S22+, or S22 Ultra on Verizon's network, the firmware version you're looking for is S90xUSQU2CWCE. We don't know yet if the update adds anything but Image Clipper and the security fixes included in the April security patch, but we'll update this article once we get more details.
Of course, you can download the update on your phone and snoop around for new stuff yourself. Just open the phone's Settings » Software update menu and tap Download and install. We will also have the latest firmware available in our archives shortly for those who would prefer to manually upgrade using a Windows PC.
Once your phone has been updated, you will be able to use Image Clipper in the Samsung Gallery and Internet apps. All you need to do is tap and hold any object in a photo to clip it, after which you can share the clipped image with other apps, share it with other users, or save it as a separate image on your own device. Check out our full Image Clipper guide for more details.
