Vivo Vision copies name of Apple's mixed-reality headset, intends to rival Samsung's XR headset

Earlier today, Vivo unveiled its first mixed-reality headset. It is called the Vivo Vision and was showcased at the Boao Forum for Asia expo in Hainan, China. The device is expected to be launched in mid-2025, which means it will be launched before Samsung's XR headset.
While the company didn't reveal the headset's features or specifications, it appears that the device has a metal front body, a glass face plate, and a headband made of fabric. It appears to be powered by an external battery connected to the device using a USB Type-C cable.
With the launch of this headset, Vivo will widen its ecosystem of products and “strengthen its real-time spatial computing capabilities for future applications in consumer robotics.“
During the “Vivo Release Moment” session held at the event, the company's COO and Executive VP, Hu Baishan, said that the mobile phone industry is a microcosm of China's technology innovation. He also said that Vivo has been China's biggest smartphone brand for four years.
