Over the past few years, Samsung's second Unpacked show of the year has kept the spotlight firmly on its foldable phones, and rightly so. Samsung was ushering in a new era of smartphones so there was every reason to prioritize maximum coverage for the foldable smartphones.
With the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series firmly established, it appears that Samsung is fine with letting other products share some of that spotlight at Unpacked. However, from what we hear, the company's new wearables aren't going to share the spotlight, they'll downright steal it from the foldables.
Samsung's next Unpacked will be all about the wearables
Multiple sources have confirmed to us that Samsung will primarily focus on its new wearable devices at the Unpacked event that's due to take place on July 10, 2024 in Paris, France. There are several new foldables at Unpacked, particularly the Galaxy Ring, which is the first truly new product that we've seen from Samsung in a while.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be unveiled at this event but they won't be the center of attention, much like how Samsung spent most of the time at the last Unpacked event talking about Galaxy AI, and only mentioned the Galaxy S24's specifications and other features in passing.
It's also pertinent to note that since the new foldables are only minor upgrades, Samsung won't be spending much time talking through them. We also hear that the rumored Galaxy Z Fold Ultra won't be revealed at this event.
As far as the company's foldables are concerned, the Galaxy Ring has got everyone excited. It's the company's first smart ring that promises to provide enhanced health and activity tracking, coupled with advancements to the Samsung Health platform.
We're also getting the new Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, the latter possibly getting a significant design change, one that makes it look a lot like conventional watches. There are new wireless earbuds on the menu as well, potentially with live translation, powered by Galaxy AI.
As always, we'll be on the ground at Unpacked in Paris to bring you all of the latest. Based on everything we've heard so far, it's going to be one to watch.
