What Galaxy S25, Fold 7, and Flip 7's four new One UI 9 AI features can do for you

One UI 9 gives the Galaxy S25 series access to four AI features that debuted on the Galaxy S26 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

They are My FanCam, Now Nudge, Call Brief, and custom cards for Now Brief. The same features are also supported on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 running One UI 9.

(Depending on when you read this, One UI 9 may still be in beta for these devices or may already be available as a stable update. The features described below should work the same either way.)

Here is what each feature can do and when you might find it useful.

My FanCam can take a video containing several people and create a cropped version that follows one selected person.

Suppose you recorded a usual wide video of a football match, concert, or another event. My FanCam lets you select one of the people in the video and Galaxy AI then tracks them as they move. It automatically adjusts the framing and keeps that person in the center while cropping out the rest.

My FanCam works on any existing video recording. To use it, open the video in the Gallery app, tap the Galaxy AI icon, and select My FanCam. The phone will scan the video and highlight the people it can detect.

Select the person you want to follow, choose between portrait and landscape orientation, and pick an aspect ratio. Tap Follow, and Galaxy AI will create the tracking video.

If My FanCam cannot detect anyone, move to another part of the recording using the seek bar and try again. Choosing a moment where the people in the video are clearly visible can help.

Now Brief provides personalized cards throughout the day based on information available on your phone. One UI 9 gives you more control by allowing you to create up to three custom cards.

The available categories are weather, health, and videos. You can select one of Samsung's suggested options or write a prompt describing the information you want the card to contain.

For example, a health card can display your Energy Score, step count, or running activity for the week. You can then choose the days and times when you want it to appear.

Once you have made your selections, Now Brief generates the card and shows you a preview. You can save it, edit it later, or delete it to make room for another one.

Samsung limits how many times you can generate or edit custom cards each day. If you reach that limit, you must wait until the following day before making more changes.

Now Nudge looks at what is happening on the screen and, through the Samsung Keyboard, recommends an action that may be useful in that moment.

For example, if someone sends you a message asking for photos from a recent trip, Now Nudge can suggest the relevant pictures from the Gallery app. If a message mentions a meeting, it can check your calendar and help you identify a scheduling conflict.

The idea is to reduce the number of steps needed to complete a task. Instead of leaving the app you are using and searching for the relevant file, photo, or event yourself, you may receive an appropriate shortcut automatically.

As its name suggests, Now Nudge doesn't take over the phone or complete actions without your input. It presents a suggestion that you can either use or ignore.

Call Brief is part of Galaxy AI's Call Assist suite. It displays events and other contextual information on the call screen when it finds something relevant to the person you are calling.

Think of Call Brief as a contextual information card than a summary of the current conversation. It doesn't necessarily appear during every call, and Samsung doesn't provide a complete list of everything it can display.

We have confirmed that Call Brief can find an event stored in the Calendar app on both devices and display it as a shared event. When calling an international number, it can also show the other person's location and local time.

These details could save you from leaving the call screen and searching through the Calendar or checking another country's time zone manually.

Call Brief is disabled by default. You can enable it from Settings > Galaxy AI > Call assist > Call brief. Personal Data Intelligence must also be enabled for the feature to work. Note that Call Brief is not available on the Galaxy S25 FE.

The four additions serve very different purposes. My FanCam is an editing tool you activate manually, while Now Nudge and Call Brief wait until they find relevant information. Custom cards sit somewhere in between by letting you decide what Now Brief should show and when it should appear.

As a result, you may not use every feature regularly. However, each one can save some time or effort when the right situation arises.
