WhatsApp has more than sufficient ways to express yourself to others. Taking a step ahead, WhatsApp is now testing an AI-generated sticker feature to let users create a WhatsApp sticker based on a brief description. The feature is currently live for some WhatsApp beta users.
According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta v2.23.17.14 for Android phones brings a new AI feature to the platform. If the feature is live in your region, you will see a new panel in the stickers section telling you about the new WhatsApp AI sticker feature. You will see a ‘Create' button, and if you press it, it will ask you to enter a prompt. Based on your description, WhatsApp will generate AI stickers, trying to match what you have described closely.
After you have found the appropriate sticker, tap on it, and it will be sent to the conversation you are currently in. Interestingly, no information is available on what generative AI model WhatsApp uses for this new AI-generated sticker feature. All stickers are generated on the Meta servers, and they stay secure.
Moreover, the person who receives these AI stickers can easily tell whether a sticker was AI-generated, even though there is no clarity on whether there will be a visual mark or notice. The feature is currently rolling out to a limited set of beta users and will arrive for more users in the coming days.
