Galaxy smartphones and other Android users who are enrolled in the WhatsApp beta program are receiving a new feature that brings an enhanced media picker. WhatsApp recently rolled out beta v2.23.13.6 of the app via the Google Play Store. Multiple beta users have reported that they are seeing the enhanced media picker feature on their WhatsApp beta app.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android shows numbered thumbnails when you select multiple media files. Previously, WhatsApp only showed tick marks for the selected media files. However, now with the improved media picker, WhatsApp users see their media files numbered when they select them, allowing them to have a better understanding of the number of files they have chosen.
Also, with this numbered media picker, users can keep track of their selection. While the tick mark served its purpose, the WhatsApp enhanced media picker takes the media selection feature to the next level. The numbers are allotted to the media files in the order in which they are selected.
According to WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp beta update for Android also reportedly offers information regarding compatibility with Meta Quest as a linked device in the future. These features are available to some beta testers on Android, with the possibility of expanding to more users in the coming days.
