It seems that WhatsApp is quite busy developing some cool new features for its application. Recently, WhatsApp was spotted working on multiple features, including the ability to let you choose your avatar for video calls, the ability to extend the delete message for everyone's time duration, and even animated heart emojis for Android.
Fast forward to now, WABetaInfo has found that WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to link another smartphone to their WhatsApp account.

The inability to use WhatsApp on multiple smartphones has been a pain for users. However, it seems like WhatsApp devs have heard its user's plea and are working on this feature.
Notably, the new feature, which is under development, will allow users to add a second smartphone as a companion device and use WhatsApp from that device as well. Folks at the scribe have found traces of a feature that syncs your chat history across mobile devices in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android v2.22.15.13.
Based on the amount of chats you have, it will take a while for this process to be completed. But the important thing is that this small feature gives us a hint that companion device support should eventually come to the platform. Sadly, there isn't a way to turn on the companion device feature on the WhatsApp beta, as of yet.
Currently, you can use WhatsApp on one smartphone and the other three devices, i.e., desktop computers and laptops. Telegram, on the other hand, allows its users to use multiple smartphones simultaneously. It is high time for WhatsApp to catch up on this feature, considering the huge user base it serves.
