Windows can’t mirror sensitive notifications from devices running One UI 7.0

Google improves privacy and security with each new release of Android, and it has done the same with Android 15. As a result, some sensitive notifications can't be mirrored from devices running Android 15 (One UI 7.0) to computers running the Windows operating system.

Sensitive notifications won't be mirrored from devices running Android 15 (One UI 7.0)

Microsoft's Phone Link app for devices running Windows has started displaying a warning (via Mishaal Rahman) that notifications containing sensitive information won't be mirrored from devices running Android 15.

Notifications containing sensitive information like two-factor authentication codes and credit card numbers won't be mirrored from phones to linked Windows PCs.

One UI 7: Windows Phone Link sensitive notifications warning

This limitation is due to Android 15's privacy feature that marks some notifications as sensitive. Information from those notifications isn't shared by third-party apps. Since Phone Link is a third-party app, sensitive notifications aren't shared with it. As a result, those notifications aren't mirrored to paired Windows PCs.

However, devices pre-loaded with the Phone Link app and with the Companion Device Role, such as Galaxy smartphones running One UI 6.1 (or newer), should still display those sensitive notifications.

Users can still overcome this limitation by turning off the ‘Enhanced Notifications' settings in Android 15. However, that will also turn off advanced features like reply suggestions.
