Last month, Xiaomi unveiled the brand's flagship lineup of smartphones, which has two models, the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro. In addition to the base and the Pro variant, the brand has been launching an Ultra model in its flagship smartphone series for the past couple of years. Xiaomi is expected to launch an Ultra model this time too, dubbed, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It will come as a successor to last year’s Xiaomi 13 Ultra. While a few details about the upcoming device have already leaked, there’s still a lot we don’t know about it. Now, a set of new leaks reveal its battery capacity and launch timeline.
According to a new report from CNMO, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a 5,500mAh battery. That’s a 500mAh increase in the battery capacity over its predecessor. The publication suggests that the brand might be offering a higher battery capacity so that people can enjoy using the phone’s camera for a longer period of time on a single charge.
As for the launch timeline, an account on Weibo that goes by Fixed Focus Digital claims that Xiaomi will launch the 14 Ultra in March 2024. That’s four months from now. For your reference, the brand launched the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro in December 2022 and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in March 2023. Considering that, the latest leak seems believable.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra rumored specifications
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.7-inch display with AMOLED technology, QHD resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the other two phones in the lineup, it is said to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. There’s also talk about the phone featuring a quad-camera setup with a 1-inch Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor. Expect the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to go head-to-head with the upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
