Up until now, the YouTube app for Android gave you two ways to search for content on the video streaming platform. You could type what you are looking for in the search bar or you could use the voice input button to tell the app what you are looking for. Well, YouTube for Android now gives you a third option, the ability to use Google Lens to search for content on the platform.

According to 9To5Google, the YouTube app for Android now offers a button with the Google Lens icon between the search bar and the voice input button. When you click on this button, the YouTube app opens Google Lens, which sees through your phone’s camera, recognizes the objects, shows you what you are looking at, and gives you the option to search that text on YouTube.

This feature lets you search for something that you are looking at, on YouTube. For example, if you come across a really gorgeous car on the road but you don’t know which car it is and you want to take a look at the car’s video reviews, you can now just open YouTube and hit the Google Lens button, which will recognize the car and give you the option to search for it on YouTube.

The story continues after the video…

At the moment, Google is rolling out the feature to a limited number of people, most likely to test if it working properly. If it is, then Google will soon make it available to more people. Until then, you can watch our video above to check out the five productivity features that Samsung’s phones offer but Apple’s don’t. For more such interesting news, follow our channel on WhatsApp.
