YouTube Music is bringing a couple of new features to its users, and in the times we are living in, you should not be surprised to know that one feature is about AI. In an official blog, YouTube Music announced that instead of looking for a playlist cover or uploading your own image, the platform now lets you use generative AI to create custom playlist art right from the YouTube Music app.

With the YouTube Music AI playlist art generator, you can tap on the artwork and start customizing it when editing a playlist. You can cycle through the categories: Colors, Cycles, Travel, Moods, Nature, Animals, Landscapes, Food and Drinks, Fantasy, Workout, or Humor. Selecting any one of the categories will generate a random set of pictures, and upon selection, you can switch between different art styles and choose the one you like.

The AI playlist art generator feature is currently rolling out in the US

Apart from the AI playlist art generator feature, YouTube Music is also getting a feature called ‘Speed dial'. You can jump back to your recently played songs, artists, or playlist quickly using the speed dials. It may look similar to Spotify's homepage, but YouTube Music is providing more options. Notably, the YouTube Music Speed dial is replacing the ‘Listen again' section. It shows 20 items in a carousel, with 9 presented inside a 3×3 grid.

Tapping on an item in the speed dial plays the song but doesn't open the full Now playing screen while tapping on More opens up the same screen that is available today. The currently playing song is highlighted in white, and the animation of the visualizer is at the center. According to YouTube Music, the Speed Dial feature will go live for Android and iOS users in the coming months. On the other hand, the YouTube Music AI playlist art generator feature is live for English-language accounts in the US, with plans to roll out widely soon.
