Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked might be one of the most exciting launch events in years. Not only is the company gearing up to reveal new product categories, but it's the first time since 2016 that the location of an Unpacked event coincides with the host city of the Olympic Games.
As per our sources, Samsung should host Galaxy Unpacked on July 10 in Paris, mere weeks before the 2024 Olympic Games start in France. Recently, Samsung has been opening new Experience Stores in the City of Love, and the excitement building up around both Unpacked and the Olympics is becoming palpable.
Samsung is an official Olympic Games Partner, but the last time Unpacked and the Olympic Games took place in the same city around the same date was in 2016. At that time, Samsung held simultaneous Unpacked events in New York, London, and Rio de Janeiro, the latter of which is where the 2016 Olympics took place.
Unfortunately for Samsung, even though it had several new and exciting devices to showcase at Unpacked 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, the Galaxy Note 7 proved problematic and had to be recalled, becoming one of the toughest lessons Samsung had to learn in recent history.
Today, however, the Galaxy Note line doesn't even exist, and foldable phones are becoming increasingly popular as Samsung sets new build quality and sustainability standards. We expect Unpacked 2024 will be more fruitful than the 2016 event was eight years ago.
Everything seems to be lining up just right
This year, Samsung might not host simultaneous events in multiple locations, but everything will be streamed live from Paris. Coincidentally or not, Samsung, Unpacked, and the 2024 Olympic Games seem to be going hand in hand, so there's a lot to be excited about this summer.
Samsung is an Olympic Games Partner, which means the brand will have extraordinary exposure throughout the season. On top of the fact that Unpacked should take place around the same time and place as the 2024 Olympic Games, the company may also announce new Health accessories for fitness enthusiasts, matching this summer's theme.
Paris visitors who plan on attending the Games will have many brand-new Samsung devices to choose from if they want to gear up or buy tech souvenirs and fitness-oriented devices. The Galaxy Watch 7 smartwatch series will be unveiled in July, and more importantly, the Galaxy Ring.
The latter will be the company's first device of its kind — a smart ring — and it just so happens to resemble the Olympic Games symbol. Once again, the planets seem to be aligning in Samsung's favor.
In addition, new AI features for Samsung Health users might also be announced, which could bolster the platform with cleverer health and fitness-tracking capabilities.
As if all this wasn't enough, a new pair of wireless earbuds could be announced, and we may even get a better sneak peek at the XR headset Samsung is developing in partnership with Google and Qualcomm.
Last but not least, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 foldable phones will be the stars of the next Unpacked show. In recent years, Samsung's foldable phones have replaced the Galaxy Note series at H2 annual Unpacked events, and they kept gaining more traction year after year.

All in all, there is a whole lot to look forward to this summer, not only because the 2024 Olympic Games are just around the corner but because Samsung has so much to show us.
Judging by the number of upcoming Galaxy devices alone, this Unpacked might be one of the most exciting Samsung launch events we've had in years. The portfolio is diverse, and the location and time are just perfect. Galaxy AI is now a thing Samsung is exploring, and the Galaxy ecosystem will soon become even richer.
We hope Samsung has big plans throughout the summer and will continue to wow us with clever marketing campaigns. All these things aligning seem like a big opportunity for the company to get a lot of exposure and visibility in the tech world and even improve foldable phone and wearable sales.
