The Frame (LS3D) is Samsung's lifestyle series mid-range QLED TV launched in 2024. It is designed for those who want their TV to double up as a central piece of attraction in their home. As its name suggests, the TV looks like a picture frame when it is hung on a wall. Unlike most other TVs, The Frame TV comes in white color. It sits flush with the wall (using Slim Fit Wall Mount) and has customizable bezels to match your home's interiors.
This 4K TV was launched in early 2024 and comes in five sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch.
The Frame TV (2024) features
Samsung uses a 4K QLED (VA) panel with a native contrast ratio of around 6,000:1, peak brightness of over 500 nits, and up to a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The TV supports HDR10, HDR10+ ADAPTIVE, and HLG. It also supports Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM), AMD FreeSync Premium, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).
Its screen has a matte finish to diffuse light reflections and make the display appear like a real painting in Art Mode. It has replaceable bezels that attach to the TV magnetically, making it easier to replace them with the ones that match your home's interiors. It comes bundled with a matching white Solar Cell Remote that charges via its USB Type-C port or the solar panel on the back.
The TV also features an ambient light sensor and a motion sensor. It uses data from these sensors to measure ambient light and check whether you are in the room. When the TV detects you have entered the room, it automatically turns the screen on and off when you leave the room (to save power). You can display art pieces from Samsung's Art Store or your personal photos (via smartphone or USB flash drive).
The Frame can be hung on the wall using the bundled Slim Fit Wall Mount or placed on the floor using the Studio Stand (optional accessory). All its input and output ports are placed on a separate One Connect Box that can be placed anywhere in the room, and the signals are transmitted to the TV using a single, near-invisible cable. The TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports, one optical digital audio output port, two USB Type-A ports, an Ethernet port, and an RF port.
It has 2.0.2-channel 40W speakers. The TV supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus multi-channel audio formats. The Frame TV also supports 360 Audio, Active Voice Amplifier, Adaptive Sound Pro, Object Tracking Sound+, and Q-Symphony.
The TV has Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 5 wireless connectivity. You can mirror your laptop's or phone's screen to The Frame TV using AirPlay 2, Miracast, and Smart View. You can also cast audio and videos using Tap Sound and Tap View using a Samsung phone. You can connect compatible Samsung Galaxy Buds to The Frame TV for 360-degree spatial audio. You can even connect two Bluetooth earphones to the TV simultaneously.
The Frame TV (2024) uses the AI Quantum Processor 4K and runs Tizen OS 7.0 with Daily+. It displays the current weather, your favorite music and video streaming apps, smart home device controls, and content from Samsung TV Plus. All your data is protected using defence-grade security suite called Samsung Knox. It has built-in Alexa, Bixby, Google Assistant, Samsung Health, and SmartThings features.
