Introduction
The Galaxy A14 is one of Samsung's first ultra-budget smartphone, launched in both LTE and 5G variants, for the year 2023. Given its sub-$200 price tag, you would be correct in assuming that it does not have any truly impressive features and is meant to offer a good overall experience for those on a budget.
Design
The Galaxy A14 comes with an Infinity-V glass-covered display at the front and a plastic back. The back has a lenticular texture, with Samsung offering an interesting choice of colors: dark red, green, silver, and green (with availability of colors depending on market). The rear-facing triple-camera setup has the sensors sitting separately in a vertical fashion on the top left side of the back. The power and volume buttons sit on the right side when looking at the phone from the front, with a capacitive fingerprint sensor built into the power button.
Specifications
The Galaxy A14 is powered by Samsung's most low-end chipset available in 2023, the Exynos 850, which includes eight power-efficient cores with clock speeds up to 2.0GHz and the Mali-G52 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage is expandable up to 1TB using a microSD slot. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000 mAh battery that can charge at 15W.
Display
The Galaxy A14, like the Galaxy A14 5G, comes with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ PLS LCD display with an Infinity-V cutout. Nothing really interesting here, but the screen size and Full HD+ resolution can combine for a pretty sharp and large viewing experience for all sorts of media, gaming, and browsing.
Camera
The Galaxy A14 has a 50MP primary rear camera with an F1.8 aperture, similar to many Galaxy devices launched in 2022 and later. The 50MP camera is accompanied by a 5MP F2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP F2.4 macro camera. For selfies, the A14 has a single 13-megapixel sensor with an F2.0 aperture.
Software and Features
The Galaxy A14 runs Android 13 and One UI Core 5.1 out of the box. The Core version of One UI usually has limited features, although most of Samsung's popular features are available, including Dual Messenger, theme support, facial recognition for security, and more. Samsung promises two major OS upgrades and security updates for four years.

The Galaxy A14's availability began in March, 2023, in markets like Malaysia with a price tag equivalent to $180.
