Introduction
The Galaxy A25 will be the successor to the Galaxy A24, a mid-range handset that came with many firsts, including support for four years of OS upgrades and five years of security updates. The Galaxy A25's launch is expected in the second quarter of 2024.
Design
The Galaxy A25's design language will be very similar to the Galaxy A24, as revealed by leaked renders of the device, which is to be expected as the A24 was a marked departure from the A23 and Samsung doesn't switch up the design on its phones too often. The one change it will bring is a textured finish at the back. As far as color options go, the A25 is expected to replace the dark red A24 with a light blue version. The other options will include black, lime green, and blue-grey.
Specifications
The Galaxy A25 is set to be more efficient and powerful thanks to the Exynos 1280 chipset, which will replace the A24's MediaTek Helio G99. RAM options will go up to 8GB, and storage on the device will be expandable thanks to a microSD slot. A 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W charging will keep the lights on. There's also support for 5G connectivity, and the phone should have a fingerprint sensor built into the power button.
Display
The Galaxy A25 is expected to come with a 6.44-inch LCD display with a U-shaped notch. It should have a refresh rate of at least 90Hz and boast excellent screen legibility through Samsung's Vision Booster feature.
Camera
The Galaxy A25 is rumored to feature a camera setup similar to the Galaxy A24. If that ends up being the case, the A25 will have a 50MP F1.8 main camera at the back, along with a 2MP F2.4 macro camera and a 5MP F2.2 ultra-wide camera. Selfie duties will be handled by a 13-megapixel camera sitting inside the display notch.
Software and features
As a phone launching in 2024, the Galaxy A25 will run Android 14 and One UI 6.1 out of the box (the One UI version may be 6.0 if the A25 comes out around the same time as the Galaxy S24). It will be eligible for four years of Android OS and One UI upgrades and five years of security updates like its predecessor.
Availability and price
Pricing details for the Galaxy A25 are unavailable as of November 7, 2023. The Galaxy A24 is a sub-$300 phone, but the A25 may cost more because of the spec upgrades. The official launch can be expected to take place in May 2024, which is when the Galaxy A24 will complete one year on the market.
