Introduction

The Galaxy A26 was one of three new mid-range smartphones Samsung launched ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 and also the cheapest of the bunch. However, it still has some excellent features and specs, including a couple of features never before seen in the Galaxy A2x lineup.

Design

The Galaxy A26 boasts a premium design that has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and back. It has Samsung's signature Key Island frame design that raises the area around the power and volume buttons.

The A26 has an IP67 rating that protects it against water and dust. It measures 164.0 x 77.5 x 7.7 mm and weighs 200g, making it thinner and slightly heavier than the Galaxy A25.

Display

The Galaxy A26 features a larger display than its predecessor, the Galaxy A25. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It can reach 1000 nits of brightness in high brightness mode. The display has an Infinity-U notch that holds the front-facing camera.

Camera

The Galaxy A26 comes equipped with a 50-megapixel F1.8 primary camera with optical image stabilization on the back, along with an 8MP F2.2 ultrawide camera and a 2MP F2.4 macro camera. The rear-facing camera uses a 13-megapixel F2.2 sensor. The A26 can capture 4K videos at 30 fps.

Specifications

The Galaxy A26 is powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset. The Exynos 1380 features four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz for performance-oriented tasks and four Cortex-A55 cores for better efficiency clocked at 2GHz, along with the Mali-G68 MP5 GPU.

The Exynos 1380 is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, with the former sporting 128GB of RAM and the latter coming with both 128GB and 256GB storage. The phone has a microSD slot for expanding storage.

The Galaxy A26 supports connectivity features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC (market dependent), and GPS. It has a USB 2.0 Type-C port. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the device and can charge at up to 25W (charger sold separately).

Software and features

The Galaxy A26 ships with Android 15 and One UI 7.0 preloaded. Some of the feature highlights include a powerful object eraser for pictures and the option to create custom filters using colors and styles from existing photos.

The A26 is eligible for six generations of Android and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates.

Availability and price

The Galaxy A26 is priced at $299.99 (256GB) in the US, €299 (128GB) and €399 (256GB) in Europe, and £299 (256GB) in the UK. It will go on sale sometime in March 2025.
