Samsung Galaxy AI Features: Interpreter

Samsung has developed the Galaxy AI features to make it possible for users to experience and interact with the world around them through their devices in ways that just weren't possible before. Since we now find it impossible to travel overseas without our phones, it was necessary for Galaxy AI to provide features that lend a helping hand in such scenarios.

The Interpreter Galaxy AI feature is a very useful addition to the Galaxy AI suite. As the name suggests, it acts as a pocket interpreter, helping users have entire conversations with people who speak a different language without much difficulty. Samsung has also made intelligent UI decisions that just make the whole experience feel that much smooth.

What is Interpreter

Interpreter is one of the core Galaxy AI features and it's helpful when users are speaking to someone face-to-face and the other person speaks a different language. What's great is that Interpreter works entirely on-device, so users don't need an internet connection to get translations. That's particularly useful when people are in a different country possibly with no data on their device.

There's support for more than a dozen languages at this point and it will surely be expanded in the future. Current supported languages include Chinese, French, English, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Thai, and others. Just download the language packs for whichever language interpretation is required and it's all good to go.

How to access Interpreter

All Galaxy AI supported devices have the Interpreter feature. It just needs to be enabled as and when required, through the following steps:

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Panel
  • Tap on the Interpreter toggle
  • Once it launches, select your desired language from the drop-down menu
