Introduction
The Galaxy M35 is the sequel to 2023's Galaxy M34 and brought some notable upgrades. It offers some of the Galaxy A35's best specs at a lower price.
Design
The Galaxy M35 has an unassuming design with a 6.6-inch display and a thick 9.1mm profile. It has three rear cameras arranged vertically, and the plastic back panel has a chequered texture. The complete dimensions are 162.3 x 78.6 x 9.1 mm and the phone weighs 222g.
At the front, the Galaxy M35 features Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for the display. The selfie camera sits inside a punch hole, unlike the phone's predecessors, which had what Samsung called an Infinity-U notch.
The M35 has power and volume buttons on the right side, with the former also doubling up as a fingerprint sensor. It comes in Thunder Grey, DayBreak Blue, and Moonlight Blue colors.
Specifications
The Galaxy M35 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset. It's an octa-core chip with four Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz, four efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. The chip is cooled by a large vapor cooling chamber.
The Galaxy M35 comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage that can be expanded using a microSD slot. The microSD slot is shared with the second SIM slot, so storage cannot be expanded when using two SIM cards.
The M35's 6.6-inch display sports a Super AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate, and 1000 nits of maximum brightness. The display is accompanied by stereo speakers, but a 3.5mm headphone port is not present on the M35.
Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS (GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, QZSS). It also has a USB-C port.
Under the hood sits a 6,000 mAh battery that charges at 25W and can last up to two days on a single charge according to Samsung.
Camera
The Galaxy M35 features a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization at the back. It sits next to an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, the M35 sports a 13MP camera. It supports video recording at multiple resolutions, including 4K, at 30 frames per second.
Camera modes available on the phone include hyperlapse, slow motion, super slow motion, night, food, panorama and macro. It also has a pro mode for both photos and videos.
Software and features
Android 14 and One UI 6.1 come preloaded on the Galaxy M35. It is eligible for four major Android version updates and five years of security updates. It includes features such as one-handed mode, screen recorder, Dolby Atmos, Dual Messenger, video call effects, Multi Window multitasking, Bixby, and various motions and gestures.
Availability and price
The Galaxy M35 was announced in May 2024 and had a price tag equivalent to around $240 at launch.
