Introduction
In 2024, Samsung is set to switch things up with its flagship tablet lineup by launching only two new models instead of three. The Galaxy Tab S10+, despite the Plus in the name, will be the base model in the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup.
Design
Samsung isn't changing the design much with the Galaxy Tab S10+. The only thing new is the colored highlights around the camera cutouts on the back, an element taken from the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The back also has a magnetic slot for the S Pen stylus. The front is covered by a massive display and fairly small bezels, though not as small as the bezels on the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
The Galaxy Tab S10+ will measure 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.4mm and weigh 571g and 576g on the Wi-Fi and 5G variants respectively.
Display
Like previous models, the Galaxy Tab S10+ will boast a 12.4-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will reportedly feature anti-reflective technology, though whether the anti-reflective properties will be a result of Gorilla Glass Armor, which can be found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is unclear as of September 11, 2024.
Specifications
For the first time ever, Samsung will use a MediaTek chipset on a flagship tablet. The Tab S10+ will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. It's a high-end chip that, theoretically, isn't much different than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which powers the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the US, Canadian, and Chinese versions of the Galaxy S24 and S24+, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The Dimensity 9300+ will be accompanied by 12GB of RAM, with storage options of 256GB and 512GB. The Tab S10+ will boast two rear cameras made up of a 12MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lends. At the front, it holds a single 12MP ultrawide camera. Under the hood, it will come equipped with a 10,090 mAh battery, likely with 45W charging.
Software and Features
The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Ultra will come with Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1 out of the box. They will sport all of the Galaxy AI features introduced with One UI 6.1 and 6.1.1 and will be among the first devices to get Android 15 and One UI 7.0 once that update is ready.
It remains to be seen if Samsung will offer seven years of Android, One UI, and security updates with the Tab S10 lineup. However, since Samsung is offering seven years of updates on a mid-range tablet, it will no doubt offer the same kind of support on the upcoming flagship tablets as well.
Availability and price
The Galaxy Tab S10+ will launch sometime in the fourth quarter of 2024. Its price could start at €1,119 in Europe for the Wi-Fi-only variant.
