Introduction
Samsung came out with a new flagship Android tablet in 2024, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, reiterating its commitment to providing the market with one of the most feature-packed Android-powered tablets. The new tablet's design is quite similar to that of its predecessor, but Samsung has chosen to prioritize substance over stylistic upgrades for this iteration.
Design
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra looks more or less the same as the model before it. There's the same familiar metal build with circular camera cutouts and a magnetic holding spot for the S Pen. Samsung has made the new tablet lighter and thinner than its predecessor. The device measures 208.6 X 326.4 X 5.4 mm and weighs 718g. Fashioned out of Enhanced Armor Aluminum, the tablet also boasts IP68 water and dust resistance.
Display and cameras
The 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen on the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is familiar but it now provides a more elevated viewing experience thanks to the anti-reflective coating that was first introduced with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It makes a world of difference in the display legibility, particularly when using it outdoors or in very well lit environments.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra features a quad-speaker setup in stereo mode. The device also features Dolby Atmos and 360 Audio (while using Galaxy Buds) for spatial audio. There's a 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel ultra-wide dual-camera setup at the back as well as a 12-megapixel and 12-megapixel ultra-wide setup at the front.
Specifications
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor featuring TSMC's 4nm fabrication process, eight high-performance CPU cores, and the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU. This powerful chip is great at anything that you want it to get done, be it high-end gaming, multi-tab web browsing, or creative needs like video editing.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has the distinction of being the first flagship tablet from Samsung to feature a MediaTek chipset instead of an Exynos or Snapdragon. The chip is paired with 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage. It has a microSD card slot for further storage expansion up to 1.5 TB.
It has GPS, 5G (in cellular models), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is powered by a massive, 11,200mAh battery that can last all day of regular usage. It can be charged at 45W using a USB PD PPS charger. The tablet doesn't come bundled with a charger, though.
Software
The tablet runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software out of the box. Samsung has made this the first tablet to offer the full Galaxy AI experience, previously available on only a handful of its phones, on this form factor.
This means that the tablet is fully capable of powering Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search and Sketch to Image. The tablet will get major Android OS updates for at seven years. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has Samsung DeX and several Galaxy ecosystem features like App Continuity, Buds Auto Switch, screen mirroring from a Samsung laptop, SmartThings, Samsung Health, and Smart View.
Availability and price
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra went on sale on October 3rd in the United States with a starting price of $1,199. Samsung only offered the tablet in two color-ways: Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver.
