Introduction
Samsung finally introduced its iPad Pro rival in the form of the Galaxy Tab S7+. The tablet has the largest display of any flagship Samsung tablet before it. Samsung has also equipped it more advanced tech over the base Galaxy Tab S7, making the Galaxy Tab S7+ truly the tablet of choice for professionals looking to add a tablet to their workspace.
Design
The Galaxy Tab S7+'s design is as familiar as it can get. It looks every bit the premium device with its metal and glass build. The brushed metal sides add a touch of class to the overall look. The front of the tablet is dominated by its large display while all of the buttons are placed on the right frame.
Quad AKG-tuned speakers are present in addition to a USB Type-C port. There's a groove at the back to which the S Pen attaches magnetically. It lines up with the dual camera setup that's vertically aligned. Overall, the Galaxy Tab S7+ is larger than any flagship tablet before it but it retains a very thin profile.
Specifications
Samsung opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor for the Galaxy Tab S7+. There's 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage on the base model while an 8GB/256GB configuration is also available. It's possible to expand storage up to 1TB using a microSD card
The Galaxy Tab S7+ is available in Wi-Fi only as well as 5G variants. Samsung only sells the 5G Galaxy Tab S7+ in markets where the next-generation network is available. AKG-tuned quad speakers with Dolby Atmos provide stereo sound when the tablet is in landscape mode. A 10,090mAh is present and it supports 45W super fast charging.
The S Pen has been improved for Samsung's latest tablet. The company has reduced its latency to just 9ms and that completely changes the way it feels when users draw or write on the tablet with the S Pen.
Display
Samsung has fitted a 12.4-inch 2800×1752 pixel resolution 16:10 aspect ratio Super AMOLED display to the Galaxy Tab S7+. It also has 120Hz refresh rate for buttery smooth scrolling and animations. There's a fingerprint sensor embedded in the display.
Camera
Since its predecessor brought dual cameras to Samsung's tablets, it's no surprise that the Galaxy Tab S7+ gets them too. The dual camera setup at the back consists of a 13-megapixel primary camera paired with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The 8-megapixel front camera is now positioned in the right bezel as opposed to the top.
Software
Samsung will ship the Galaxy Tab S7+ with Android 10 and One UI 2.5 out of the box. The latest version of Samsung's custom software adds a variety of new features to the tablet. It also enhances the functionality of the S Pen which is crucial to the productivity experience.
Price and availability
Samsung unveiled its new flagship tablet during its August 5, 2020 virtual Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy Tab S7+ will go on sale in the fall of 2020 with prices starting at $849.99. It's going to be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black and Mystic Silver colors.
