Introduction
The Galaxy Watch 7 sought to build upon the solid foundation provided by its predecessor, and Samsung has certainly equipped it with all of the capabilities to do so. It's a bona fide smartwatch that's worthy of the Galaxy Watch name.
Overshadowed as it might be by the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which it was unveiled alongside, the Galaxy Watch 7 holds its own very well by providing exceptional health and fitness tracking features at a reasonable price.
Design
The Galaxy Watch 7 is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes with 1.3-inch and 1.5-inch displays respectively. Available variants include Bluetooth and Bluetooth + LTE. Green and Cream colors are available for the 40mm while Green and Silver color variants are available for the 44mm
There's no physical rotating bezel on the smartwatch this time around. Durability is assured by the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The design itself is MIL-STD-810H-compliant design for shock resistance.
Specifications
The Galaxy Watch 7 comes with Samsung's Exynos W1000, the world's first 3nm chipset, that promises 3x CPU performance and 30% efficiency gains.
There's 2GB of RAM onboard alongside 32GB of internal storage, double than the predecessor. It even includes also a dual-frequency (L1 + L5) GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC support. Battery capacity is 300mAh on the 40mm and 425mAh on the 44mm version.
Software and features
several Galaxy AI features, such as suggested replies based on message history, Energy Score, personalized recommendations for wellness, Heart Rate Zone information, and much more. Samsung has also added new gestures to enable easier control of the watch's many functions.
Price and availability
Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch 7 at a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris. Pricing for the Galaxy Watch 7 starts at $299 for the 40mm and $329 for the 44mm variants.
