Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip 5 is now available for pre-order and will be ready to ship out on August 11. We're happy to say we didn't have to wait that long before we could take the new foldable flip phone out for a test drive. We are at Unpacked and had the chance to go hands-on with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 after the event. Check out our video below.
Two big changes have happened to the Galaxy Z Flip's exterior with the release of the fifth generation. Firstly, the device has a new hinge that allows it to fold flat without leaving any gaps. Secondly, the device has a cover screen that's 3.78 times larger than the previous generation. These elements beautify the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and truly elevate its design.
A beautiful sequel to the most popular foldable phone line
The new cover screen, a.k.a. Flex Window, is the most striking thing about the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It's gorgeous but also enhances the user experience with Widgets for numerous apps like Google Finance, Maps, Samsung Wallet, and others, as well as a full QWERTY keyboard for messages.
These widgets for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 cover screen can be viewed in a Multi Widget View through a pinch gesture, and you can see all this in action in our hands-on video below. You may also catch a glimpse of the latest color options, as well as the Flex Hinge, which enables Flex Mode features, just as you would expect from the Flip series.
If the Galaxy Z Flip 5 speaks to you and would like to own one, you can pre-order the foldable flip phone from Samsung. If you do, you can benefit from bonuses on Samsung Care+ and a free memory upgrade (offers vary by market).
