Introduction

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 could be announced in the second half of 2025. It is expected to bring a bigger cover screen, a faster processor, improved camera quality, and longer battery life. It will likely run Android 15 and One UI 7.0 out of the box and get seven major Android OS updates.

Design

Samsung could change the design of its flip-style foldable phone with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Its cover screen could span the entirety of its front, offering more screen real estate. It reportedly measures 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9mm (unfolded).

It could have the same flat sides as its predecessors, featuring an Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 panel on the front and the rear for protection against scratches. It will likely have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Display

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 reportedly has bigger screens. Its cover display is said to measure 4 inches diagonally, spanning edge to edge, similar to Motorola's recent RAZR series foldable phones. The cover display will reportedly surround its dual camera setup.

On the inside, it could have a 6.85-inch foldable screen with a less noticeable crease. Both screens could use more power-efficient panels for longer battery life.

Cameras

Samsung will likely not improve the camera hardware on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It is expected to use the same 50MP primary camera with OIS and 12MP ultrawide camera seen on its predecessor. However, the company will likely improve image and video quality through more advanced processing.

On the front, it could have a 12MP selfie camera. The phone could support 4K 60fps video recording with 10-bit HDR from all its cameras.

Specifications

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip. It could be paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It could also have an additional variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It won't have a microSD card slot.

It could include several connectivity features, including GNSS (BDS, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, and QZSS), 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.

Samsung has reportedly powered the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with a 4,300mAh battery (with 25W or 45W charging), which is an increase of 300mAh compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. A bigger battery and a more power-efficient chip should theoretically result in significantly longer battery life.

Price and availability

Samsung hasn't announced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 yet, and the foldable phone is expected to go official alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the second half of 2025. The Galaxy Z Flip 7's price could be $1,099, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, we will only know the actual pricing once the phone is launched.

The device could be available for pre-order the same week as its announcement and reach consumers within a couple of weeks of that date.
