Introduction
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely be the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was launched in 2024. The upcoming foldable phone is expected to be announced in the second half of 2025. It could bring major design changes for the first time since the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The phone is expected to feature a bigger cover and foldable screens, a faster processor, and improved cameras.
Design
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly be the thinnest foldable smartphone Samsung has ever made (till 2025), at just 4.5mm thin when unfolded (9.5mm when folded). It is said to measure 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm. It could continue to feature an Aluminum Armor frame with flat sides and slightly rounded corners.
It will likely have an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. On the side, it could have a capacitive fingerprint reader.
Display

Samsung could equip the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with bigger cover and foldable screens than its predecessor. Reports say it could have a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.2-inch foldable screen. Both screens will likely use Dynamic AMOLED 2x panels with a 120Hz variable refresh rate and at least 2,600 nits peak brightness.
The crease on the foldable screen could be less visible than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Cameras

Reports indicate the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have a triple-camera setup on the rear, similar to its predecessor. It will reportedly have a better main camera. It could have a 200MP primary camera with OIS, similar to all recent Galaxy S Ultra series phones. The other two cameras are expected to be a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera.
On the front, it could have a 10MP selfie camera. The other front-facing camera situated under the phone's foldable screen is said to be an improved under-display camera. The phone can record 8K 30fps videos using the primary rear camera and 4K 60fps videos using all other cameras (except for the under-display camera).
The phone could offer Samsung Log format for recording log videos for a flatter color profile. This feature was originally introduced with the Galaxy S25 series.
Specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor, 12GB or higher RAM, and 256GB or higher internal storage. It will run Android 15-based One UI 7.0 software out of the box and likely come with a promise of seven generations of Android OS updates and security updates for up to seven years.
The phone will also have several connectivity features, including GNSS (BDS, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, QZSS), 5G (dual-SIM and eSIM), 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely powered by a 4,400mAh battery and 25W fast charging. It could also support Qi2 Ready accessories for 15W fast wireless charging and magnetic alignment with accessories.
Price and availability
Samsung could price the Galaxy Z Fold 7 similarly to its predecessor, which means the 256GB version could start at $1,899.99 in the USA. The phone could go official in July 2025 and become available for purchase in the same month.
